About Me

So far I cannot complain too much:

I am a senior undergraduate at the University of Oklahoma (OU) where I am majoring in Meteorology and minoring in both Computer Science and Mathematics. Along with school, I work two jobs: one as a researcher where I help in programming a data mining technique that we hope will lead to better understand of how tornadoes form (for more information check out the Links page, in the ‘links about me’ section), the other where I oversee data quality of instrumentation throughout the world. Taking such intensive coursework as well as having those two jobs does tend to leave me with very little free time to be overly social or work on the hobbies I really want to. These hobbies include learning how to restore my 1980 Firebird Formula 400 and storm chasing.

I also have the greatest lady ever born to call my fiancé, she is majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Chemistry at OU. She plans to go to graduate school to focus in forensics and hopes to work for the FBI someday. Her dream cars include a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, and a 1957 Studebaker Goldenhawk. Currently, she doesn’t have a car to restore, but an active bet – permanently sealed with a spit enforced handshake – involving having my 1980 Firebird Formula 400 primered and reliably driveable before the wedding day in June, 2009 will ensure her getting her 1968 Ford Mustang fastback within the next five years.

Finally, we have two cats: Torque and Tony. Torque we got when he was a wee kitten, but he is no longer a kitten, nor is he all that wee: weighing in near 20 pounds, but is perfectly friendly – as long as he is fed. Tony we took in one night near the first cold snap of winter as a severely underweight but incredibly friendly stray. After convincing Torque that keeping Tony didn’t mean he would have less food, we all became one happy family.
